problems at startup

when we start up our computer a message appears saying " Data1.dat NOT
FOUND". we are having problems in opening and running real Player and Record
Now version 6.0. Does the missing Data1.dat have anyhting to do with this?
What is data1.dat and how do we retrieve/restore it to our PC ? anyone help?

A great way to find out what a particular file is or does is to do a google
search on it. simply go to google.com and just type in the file name and hit
search. I just did that for the data1.dat file and it seems that is a spyware
file and a pretty damgerous one at that, my suggestion is, download and run
spybot, its a free spyware scan and remove program that works great. Just do
a seach and you'll find it. You may also need to remove real player and
re-install for it to work again
