Problems Adding Pictures to Slide Shows

Hello,

I have PowerPoint 97. Whenever I try to add a picture, I
get an error when I try to save the slide show. It tells
me that "PowerPoint found an error that it can't correct.
You should save presentations, exit then restart
PowerPoint." If I try to save again, I just get the same
error message. HELP!!!!!
