I have had Windows XP Prof. running on our computer for over a year without
any problems until recently. I can only log onto one user at a time. I have
to log out of a user before the syetem will allow me to log onto a different
user. This happened a little over a week ago and I ended up doing a system
restore which corrected the problem but it is now happening again. I tried
to restore to two days ago and it didn't work. I don't want to have to keep
restoring. Any ideas?

Ensure you have Fast User Switching enabled.

To enable Fast User Switching.
Control Panel (Classic View) > User Accounts > Change the way users log on
or off > enable "Use Fast User Switching.

Another place to check is Services and see if "Fast User Switching
Compatibility" has started.
Control Panel (Classic View) > Administrative Tools > Services > locate
"Fast User Switching Compatibility".
