Problem with WindowsInstaller

I'm experiencing a big problem with Windows Installer and i'm not able
to install/uninstall any *.msi packages, the procedure doen't go to
the end ...
In the services management window, WindoxsInstaller is in "automatic
start" but stopped and no way to start it I think that also the *.msi
packs are not able to start the service and the software abort the
install...any idea?

THX i've tried to remove the last and the unuseful softs I've
installed but the error remain, do I have to remove everything? If it
doesn't work all my softs will be removed (office, mediaportal, psp)
and if i'll be unable to install them again? now they are running ok!
(but I can not install a new one....)
