Hi you know when you finished editing your photostory and you story can be
created into a slideshow video played on windows media player, for some
reason when i play it there is a permanent pink line (a line on a bar graph
type of a line) on the right side the entire time? Why is it there? How do I
get rid of it?

Are you playing the file on your computer?
Are you using Windows Media Player 10?

Try saving with a different profile...these
options are found on the "Save Your Story"
screen by clicking the "Settings" button.

For playing on your computer...also try
reducing your Graphics Hardware
Acceleration...the following article explains
how:

Hi I read your response, thanks for your time, but I don't think those are
the problems. I have windows media player 10 and I already used the settings
button several times. Only 600x800 and below works. I have a 1024x780
resolution screen but it still shows the pink bar on the right, I don't know
I guess I will have to shoot for the lower resolution. Thanks though

What is the graphics hardware acceleration?

Try reading the Microsoft Knowledge

Here it is again:

If this adjustment improves the issue, it's
a strong indication that you need updated
video drivers.

Ok you are right, I checked with the hardware thing you suggested. And the
reason is because I don't have my monitor's driver to go with my video
adapter. But I can't seem to find any video drivers online to download for my
video adapter. I will try to find it from my old pile of installation stuff
because I can't really get help from the daewoo monitor manufacturing
company. Its a Korean brand that seems pretty popular now so I don't think
they will help. What should I do now?

Did you reduce the acceleration as
per the instructions? Does the movie
display the same behavior or is it
improved?

Can you post brand and model
number of your video adapter?

Here's a way to identify it:

Click Start, click Run, and then
type "devmgmt.msc" press...Enter.

Click the + next to...Display adapters...
you will see the name of your video adapter.

If you right click that name and choose...
Properties / Driver tab...you can see the
"Version " number of the driver.

So yes I did reduce the acceleration as the instructions told me to do so and
indeed the pink bar thing disappeared so I need to update my driver. The
conditions improved. Here is the name of the adapter SiS 650_651_740 and the
version number of my adapter 6.13.10.2091. Thanks John for helping me so
patiently!

OK...here's a site where you can download
an updated video driver. I cannot guarantee
that it will be your fix but it should be.

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=305233

This driver is version number...7.1.100.1248
which is newer than your current driver.

You'll have to create a new free account before
you can download the driver and if you need
help installing the driver...read the Beginner's
Guide. You'll see it listed in the left pane after
you sign in. The FAQ may be useful also.

You could leave your Acceleration settings
as is and forget about the driver but if you
decide to download/unzip/and install the
updated driver...you should return the
acceleration to full.

Good Luck.

*Correction*

Upon further inspection...the version
number is 6.14.10.3620 but it is still
an upgrade from your current driver.

I installed the new driver, my problem is fixed! Thanks so much for your
persistence. But one thing that is weird is that when I check for the name of
my video adapter it still says SiS 650_651_740 not the new version number.
Did I install it correctly?
Anyways thanks for solving my problem!

Excellent Mandy! Way-to-go!!! And you're
welcome...it's a pleasure to assist someone
who tries as hard as you did to solve a
problem.
