Problem with video signal

Hello, I´m experiencing the following problem:

After some time (let´s say 20 minutes) using the PC the signal to the
monitor disappears and becomes black. It usually happens after actively using
the video card: divx execution, game playing, etc. It takes some minutes
(even 1 hour) to be able to reinitialize the pc because video signal
continues off if I reboot inmediatly.

After going black the CPU contiunes working but sound starts failing after a
while (the last sounds start repeating without end).

Can anyone help me? Can be video card overheating? How can I solve?

Thank you

The video card can be overheating...the entire computer can be overheating.
Open the case and make sure that all the fans are running (including the fan
on your video card, if you have one). While the case is open, clean out all
the dust and debris. Consider the placement of your computer: Is it getting
adequate ventillation?

Thank you for your answer, I´ll try everything after work and I´ll tell you.

Thanks again

Hi, I opened the case and cleaned the video card, unplugged and plugged
again. No change in the situation when I tried to reboot: no tv signal. What
I could see was that video card fan didn´t run when connecting the PC. Maybe
this is the problem, but: is there any possibility to repair or a new card
seems to be needed?

Thank you very much

If the fan on your video card is not turning, you need a new video card. If
this is the same video card that originally shipped with your computer your
computer is still under warranty, try your luck with the computer
manufacturer.
