problem with the latest driver for radeon 9600xt

when i install the latest driver for my card... all my games ****
up... far cry... doom3... cs/cz (also source beta).... my graphic
card informs me that it has to clear memory...
i have:

Processor:
2,07 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Main cirucit board:
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. A7V8X-X REV 1.xx
Bus Clock: 166 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. ASUS A7V8X-X ACPI BIOS Revision 1010

Memory modules:
512 Megabytes Installed Memory
Slot 'DDR 1' is Empty
Slot 'DDR 2' has 512 MB
Slot 'DDR 3' is Empty

Wen i use the driver that came with the install cd... i works fine...
Has anyone had the same or some similar problem?

troubleshooting newsgroups.

You may need to fully remove the previous driver in order to properly
install the new one. I believe there is a utility at ATI you can download
to do so.
