Problem with Telnet and NTLM

Hello

I have a very strange problem here.
Simple Win2K domain, some member servers with Win2K SP4.
We want to use Telnet with NTLM auth., which is by default AFAIK.
The problem is, server's Telnet service doesn't ask for a username and password, simply lets in to the command prompt.

The NTLM setting is 2, Set NTLM command was issued on clients.
Where's the problem?

P.S. What is the password for newsserver hosting microsoft.private.directaccess.win2000.* groups?
It has changed recently, but I can't find out it now.

Thanks,
