Problem with System restore and Windows Update in XPe SP3

Hi all,

I'm having problems with System Restore and Windows Update after I've
upgraded my image to the SP3:

1. The System Restore service doesn't start.
2. The Windows Update is unavailable (all options are disabled).

My question is:

does anybody have System restore and Windows Update working in their
image with SP3? Did you upgrade your old image or you recreate it in SP3
from scratch?

If you have any idea about why it could not working - please drop me a
message...

Some more info:

in the system event log:
SRService: The System restore initialization process failed.
Service Control Manager: The System restore Service service terminated
with the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.

In the system32\wbem\logs\wbemess.log:

multiple events:
NT Event Log Consumer: could not retrieve sid, 0x80041002

some:
Failed the first attempt to retrieve the sink to deliver an event to
event consumer NTEventLogEventConsumer="SCM Event Log Consumer" with
error code 80041033.
WMI will reload and retry.

Failed the second attempt to deliver an event to event consumer
NTEventLogEventConsumer="SCM Event Log Consumer" with error code 80041033.
This event is dropped for this consumer.

OK, the Windows Update problem is solved.

Some component setup the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
"DisableWindowsUpdateAccess"=dword:00000001

also

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsMediaPlayer]
"DisableAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001

Thanks a lot microsoft :-(

Still struggling with System Restore (and also Computer Browser starts
and stops immediately). Any clue?
