Problem with 'SYSTEM.MDW' in a Run-Time97

Hi,

thanks to Richard Brant for the help.

Now, I have a problem when try to install the Run-Time access97
application in a PC without the file 'system.mdw'

The error message is:

couldn't find file 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\system.mdw'. This file is
required for startup.

I try to include this file when I make the compilation with the
Microsoft Office97 Developer Tool.

The options are:

Destination folder: $(WinSysPath)
Overwrite existing file: Never
Set us workgroup file

With these options the Application works properly but it is impossible
to UNINSTALL it. When you try to do it, you can see only two options,
Remove All and Reinstall. When you try to execute one or other the
result is this message:

APPLICATION Set up was not completed succesfully.

The unique modification that generate this error have been to introduce
the file 'system.mdw'. ¿Do you have any idea?. Thank you very much.

My experience with the 97 Runtime setup program is that uninstall NEVER worked
unless I made the setup program have multiple components. With multiple
components you get the option during setup to do a "Typical", "Custom", or
"Compact" install. Without multiple components you just get the single
"Install" button. Whenever I have used the single component option the
uninstall has responded as you are seeing. As long as I used the
multi-component option it has always worked fine.
