Problem with SUS and 2000

I have a SUS server running on windows 2000 server w/sp4
and there are a combination of XP and 2000 pro/server
clients that are connecting to it for automatic updates.
The XP machines have no problem getting updates on the
schedule that i specified, but the 2000 machines will not
use the registry edits that i made. I got the registry
edits from the "white paper" about SUS provided by
Microsoft. I have gone back and verified that the
registry edits are correct several times. The 2000 pro
machines already have sp4 on them. Any ideas???

I'm having the opposite problem. I have SUS running on a
2003 server with IIS 6 and the 2000 clients seem to work
(not all of them, but I did a clean 2000 install and set
up the auto update stuff using gpedit.msc and it worked).
My XP box, however will not. I looked at the log file (%
SystemRoot%\Windows Update.log) and the machine queries
the update server but never goes and downloads the
updates. I don't have a schedule set, I have it set to
download automatically and notify when ready to install.
Doesn't work. Any ideas?
