Problem with opening Notepad

Greetings,

I have Windows 2000 Professional with FAT32 as my file
system. Now, the issue is that whenever i double-click on
a notepad file (text file) it does not open. But, the same
is opened when i open Notepad (click on start --> run -->
notepad.exe and enter and then click on File --> Open and
locate the file).

What can be the issue.

In My Computer or Windows Explorer, right-click a file
with the extension whose association that you want to
create, and then click Open. Or, double-click the file.
In the Open With dialog box, choose a program to
associate with this file name extension. Click the Always
use the selected program to open this kind of file option.

Greetings,

Arre yaar, the issue is not that. Suppose you create a
notepad file abc.txt, now when you double-click on it, it
should open in Notepad, isn't it. This is not happening,
double-click just make the mouse pointer an hour glass for
a second and nothing happens.


Any ideas dost.
