Problem with network card

Hi all...

I have just reinstalled Windows XP and I have a problem with my network
card. It delay too much to react when Windows is booted up. One consequence
of that is a great delay before loading other taskbar applications and no
automatic Internet connection (I have the shortcut in Startup folder).

I have a Pentium 4, 2.4GHz and an ASUS motherboard with network adapter
included (that adapter is used for Internet connection). I have another
nertwork card used for my home LAN and it react fastly.

Any help?
Thanks a lot in advance

Hello

Two options
1. Go to www.asus.com and look for the most recent driver
2. Try to contact Asus T.Support and see what they say.
3. DIsable the onboard Nic and try another and see if you
get any better performance or any change
4. Maybe the nic on the system board is bad

Hi Alvin,

Well.... the problem isn't NIC but Windows XP. As I said, I have another
network card, so I have changed the connections, and the same problem
happens with the other card.

One fact is that the problem happens only when the network cable is plugged
in. When I unplug it, the system boot up fastly.

I have ADSL internet connection.
