Hi,
I'm trying to make my first auto-updating Table of Contents in Word
2000. I'm trying to make a Table of Contents using Table Entry Fields
rather than by using Styles. Basically, I enter my field before each
paragraph I want as an entry in the TOC. My problem is that all my entries
show up as Level 1 headings, even if I assign them level 2 or 3, etc. My
Level 1 field code that works looks like this:
{TC "Introduction"} I also have entries that look like this: {TC
"Description of the RMRS" \| 2}that I would like to show up as a second
level Table of Contents entry, but all my entries show up in the TOC
formatted the same (and as "Hyperlink" Style). I'd greatly appreciate any
help with this problem. Thanks!

Jed

If the sample you gave is accurate, it's because you used a "pipe" (vertical
bar: |) instead of the required lowercase L in the switch.
