Problem with MS Briefcase?

On 2 pcs I had Briefcase working perfectly over my network. I retired
one pc and copied all my files onto the new one, but now there is
something amiss in the way the files are set up.

When I try to set up "new briefcases" on the nonretired pc so that they
can be synchronized with the new pc, its not working properly. It is
setting up an extra level of file and then will not synchronize. I
think its because the files are not referenced to the new computer
correctly.

I think it has something to do with how the files where transferred.
Perhaps I have to give them a new name or path so that the new computer
is "fooled" into thinking they belong here??? But I'm no sure? Any
ideas?

Thanks!
Joe

(I tried to make this clearer) On 2 pcs I had Briefcase working perfectly
over my network. But one was old so I junked it and bought a new pc ----

I copied all the files from the pc I junked onto the new pc, but now there
is something amiss in the way the files are set up(I guess...).

When I try to set up "new briefcases" on the existing working pc so that
they can be synchronized with the new pc, its not working properly. It is
setting up an extra level of file and then will not synchronize. I think its

Sorry, no idea. But this Google Groups search might help:

I think the problem is that something is not enabled in the new machine to
allow the files to transfer. It may be in a "read only" mode for other
computers.

Does this make sense?
