Problem with mouse

I'm having some problems wih my laptop. With the touch pad mouse - when I
try to double click on something, I get a drop down screen after the first
click. I looked nder the "control panel - mouse" area with no help. It was
working fine before, but is now giving me this problem.

Check the mouse settings again and make sure the buttons haven't been
switched.
