Problem with missing text in add/remove programs

Recently, I used Add/Remove Programs under control panel and found all
of the program names are now missing. The icons are there as well as
any text for changing or removing the program, just now program names.
Its as if the font for the program name cannot be rendered or is
invisible. I don't know when this occured, since I don't use this to
often, but I'm guessing after a recent critical upgrade.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this back?

Sounds like a virus. Is any antivirus software installed on this
system? Is it up to date?

You can go into REGEDIT and check the "DisplayName" key
for each program entry (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Uninstall), and assuming the keys are there and
valid (less than 63 characters each) you're probably dealing with
a virus infection.

I have Panda Titanium running and just did a full check. No viruses.
When I start Add/Remove Programs, just for a fraction of a secondf, the
panel appears to display the names then they all disappear, like I said
before, some kind of font problem.

Have you tried changing the display properties? Switch
to a different screen resolution, change your icon and
other fonts to a different font and size etc.
