Problem with JSI Tip #3471

J

Jerry Girard

To be able to change the security settings as indicated in the tip, the
folder's ownership needed to be changed to Administrator otherwise no
changes would have been propagated down to the user's folders due to
unauthorized access. Now that ownership was changed, roaming profiles no
longer work because the user is not the owner of the folder anymore. An
error message appears at log on indicating the problem. It also states that
the user OR the Administrator must be the owner in order to gain access to
roaming profiles. In this case, the Administrator is the owner and roaming
profiles still don't work. How do I change ownership back to the user of
the folder?

At any rate, now that ownership and all security settings for all the
folders have been changed to Administrator and System, etc. as shown in the
tip, I still can't get defrag to defrag the entire drive.
