problem with java virtual m/c

Hi all
i have a problem using IE 6.0 .any of the java
applications do not work on my system. i am asked to
install Java virtual m/c each time i try to run a java
access like chat,and even when i do it does not work.
please help me in this regard.
will be waitin for ur suggestion .
