Problem With IE6 And Win98SE

Please help! I have tried everything and cannot figure this out! I am running
Win98SE and IE6 and have all of the critical updates installed. I use AVGFree
7.0 for Virus, Spybot & Ad-Aware for spyware and all are coming up clean.
The problem I have is with IE6. Recently I have trouble accessing certain
web pages. It comes up with a pages saying the page caanot be displayed. I
have tried both of the following to view the page, "detect network settings"
or "Refresh Page". Sometimes it works and at others, it does not. Sometimes
Windows remembers my info for that page and not at others. Have tried all of
the settings for security in IE6 and nothing seems astray.
Any of you fantastic experts have any clue?
Your time is greatly appreciated!

Recently I have trouble accessing certain web pages.

Cite a URL you want help with?

Sometimes it works and at others, it does not.

That may indicate a problem with your DNS.
Instead of using those detection links open a command window
and enter a tracert command. (Press Ctrl-c to cancel the output
because you are just using it to verify that the lookup is working.)
Sometimes even that won't work but then you will have a clue
about what the real problem is. Depending on the site, its domain
name may have an address which is easier to find; so try using
tracert with that name (e.g. the web site name without the www. prefix).
Sometimes that will make lookup for the web site name finally work;
so go back and test the web site name again after that.
Unfortunately your OS does not have an nslookup command;
otherwise you could use it for even better tests.

Good luck
