Problem with GIF files

When i upload a GIF file it increase the duration to 24 hours and the fps to
30 which make the GIF play as a freeze frame of 1 frame in the whole file,
does anyone know how i can correct this?

Try opening it in Paint and saving it as a BMP and see if it works properly
then.

I tried doing that and basically now it inserted it as a picture whick no
longer plays at all....any other suggestions anyone?

A GIF file is an image file.
Is it an animated GIF?
If so you could download and try for free Ulead's GIF Animator and open it
in that then, if it plays properly in that, you can save it with a different
filename to see if that file works.
