Problem with Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

Ok here the deal. I had a problem with a harddrive and the
drive was failing so i ran the wizard and backed up all my
important data to a secondary drive.

I bought a new drive and installed a fresh copy of xp pro
and updated it fully with windows update. Went to run the
files and settings transfer wizard to now restore my files
and i get to a point where it asks where the files are at;
Point it to the directory on the second drive where i
saved it and it states its not a valid directory. I have
searched the entire internet looking for an infernal
answer of HOW to get my files back. There is extremely
important data there and it obviously backed something up
2 dat files in the folder one is 2gb the other is 300mb...

Please someone help me out here. Someone told me about
fastconv but i can find no trace of this utility anywhere
on the internet. It appears the status file in the
directory might be corrupt but the other files look ok.
Please help me out. Thanks.

You need to share the drive where the files are located when logged on as
the administrator.

That is not my problem. I can SEE the directory fine, and
can even access it manually.

The problem is, and listen closely please; That it says
no "files" exist to restore from. When i have files in
that folder, a 2gb dat file and a 300mb dat file and a
file named "status"
