Problem with file transfers from NTFS to FAT32

G

gregt

When I try to transfer files from an NTFS partition to a newly created FAT32
partition I receive the warning: "The file 'x' contains more than one data
stream, but the destination volume does not support this feature. Some data
will not be preserved as a result." The data that I am transfering are
program files downloaded from the 'net.

Please let me know:

1. Why this problem occurs.
2. How I can resolve the problem.

Thanks,
Greg

Because the files contain alternate data stream(s) and FAT32 doesn't support that.
See tip 2808 » Alternate Data Stream tool.
