Problem with Deleting files

Periodically, when I delete a file (no matter what size) or shortcut the
progress window will show up and stay long after the file is deleted. This
could be for 30 seconds to over a minute (even though the file is 1k) then
it will close by itself. I can close the window and it will be fine but why
does the window stay there. The next time I do it it will work normally.

Thanks,

Tom

It just depends on what else the PC is doing. It sounds like your disk could
be almost full or perhaps badly fragmented, or there are other programs
using the disk at the same time.

On another note.. is there any reason you wait and watch the "deleting file"
box?

You can do other things while windows is deleting the file.

That seems to be the problem but I can't see anything else happening.

I don't watch it - it is just on the screen and takes a long time
periodically.

Thanks,

Tom
