Problem with compact framework sp2+ and showdialog

I have a few forms that are shown with showdialog. When they are closed the
underlying form that should appear is now hidden and you see the pocket pc
desktop.

Am i doing something wrong here. I cannot be the only one with this problem.

It works just fine with the original framework. Sp2 and now Sp3 show this
same behaviour.

I tried that with sp2. It does some funny stuff to the Z-Order. Some forms
after being set as the top form will remain on top. I think I would have ot
call this for every form that is shown.

I have 38 in my app.

I take it from the response that this is an issue that others are having as
well?

Actually no. I have not heard anybody report a specific ShowDialog SP2
problem (which doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just I have not heard
anybody). Personally, I target our own CE device where the problem certainly
doesn't exist. The reason I pointed you to that link is that people have
reported occasions where the zorder of forms gets messed up and Peter has
the solution on his blog.

Now I quickly knocked up a project for my PPC and I cannot replicate what
you report. I have a main form and in a button click I added two lines to
create and ShowDialog a second form. Closing the second form brought me back
to the main form. If you have some sample code for me to try feel free to
post it.
