problem with audio capture

Hi:
I have an asus 9600xt video card. I am attempting to download from
a miniDV camera using the s-video connector and the asus digital vcr
software. So far I have been unable to get any audio. the video is
fine but in MPG. How do I capture the audio?

it would be 10x easier to capture using firewire...but i'm guessing that
your line-in volume might be muted or seomthing of that nature.
