Problem with appearance of hyperlinks and objects

Guest

When I type a hyperlink in Word 2003, instead of appearing as a coloured
hyperlink, it converts to something like this:
{ HYPERLINK: “http://www.microsoft.com" }. Also, in Print Layout View, page
numbers don't come as out as numbers at all, but simply: { PAGE }, and
objects often appear as something like: { EMBED Equation.3 }. The pages
print out fine, but I want to stop this effect and have the hyperlinks,
objects, page numers appear as one is supposed to see them, not in the format
I've outlined above. I can't find a way to solve it - help please!
