problem with animation show in ppt

I have several gif files made from Imagemagick from mpeg.
They are good if I open them with ACDsee or IE.
but when I try to show them in powerpoint, the quality is terriblely
bad. I use Insert -> picture ->from files..

I have tried any software in my computer that can open gif files, and
the animations are good. So I really confuse about this.

Actually, I am very very frustrated with this. I am using PowerPNT
2000. Before I had a bunch of mpg files so that I have to carry them
everytime with the ppt file. Then I found out that I can insert the
huge gif files into the ppt file so that at least I only need to carry
one file. It worked last time. But this time I am with bad luck again.
Can office 2003 really solve this problem? I am really tired of this
work.

Rgds.

First question, how big are the GIFs? PowerPoint is a bit of a resource hog
and a really large GIF file can further devour RAM. You may have a resource
issue if you are running 512 RAM or less. Can these GIF files be broken
into smaller components that can be swapped into and out of memory?

Also, what size are the GIFs built for (and subsequently being played back
at by the various players). Are you trying to take a 100 x 100 pixel GIF
and cover the entire 1024 x 768 pixel screen with it? Enlarging files to
fill the screen this way will cause poor quality visual output.
