Problem with address book in Word.

I have a user who is having problems accessing his address book through
word. When he has typed a letter and goes to File -> Send to -> Mail
Recipient he receives the following error when clicking the Address
book. Address book failure, Unspecified error. Check your mail set up
you must have extended MAPI version 1.0 or higher to use this feature.

Can anyone help?
 
At a minimum you must provide your versions and your email software. You are
not talking about Word's address book. You are talking about the address
book for your email program, which you have not even specified.
 
We are running Outlook version 2002. I recently found that the user
had installed Office 2003 but not upgraded Outlook. Could this
possibly cause the fault?

Indeed. Versions must match if you want to use WordMail.
