When 2 computers are online at same time in a house is then possible to use
Messenger? (a friend tells me he has a problem that when his sister opens
Messenger on her computer his own Messenger closes down)

Greetings Jacob,

It shouldn't be a problem -- in a rare circumstance (say on a dialup line) where high
intensive bandwidth applications are being used (say some file sharing applications), one of
the Messenger clients might get logged off, but that could happen regardless of how many
people are actually using Messenger.

I have the same problem, I have a home wireless network and when I log into
Messenger from my laptop I automatically get logged out of my PC. I realise
this is OK as one cannot be logged in in two places. However without any
human intervention the PC will often log itself back in again and
consequently logs me out of the laptop!

Its very frustrating. Can anyone suggest how to stop one machine
automatically logging itself back in again. I am on a broadband cable
connection and use XP home on both machines.

What version of messenger are you running at home?

I am using 4.7 on the laptop and 5.0 on the PC - would I be better with 5.0
on both machines and how do I update the newer version on the laptop?
