I'm having problems w/ word (office 2003) tha it won't save documents or
mail/print merge. I can modify a document, print it and that is about it.
When I do any type of merge (printer, email), it looks as if it processed it
but it does not exist in the printer que or in outlook. When exiting, it
asks if i wan to save it, I click "yes" but it does nothing! I repeat this,
and the only option that I have is to exit w/o saving and I loose everything!

Have you "Activated" Word? If you select Activate Produce from the Help
menu, what happens?

it says it's activated already. any other suggestions? it appears, as i
mess with it, that this has to do with saving documents and whatever it does
to save documents as you ask it to perform these tasks????

thanks,
Mark

Under Tools>Macro>Macros is there a macro with the name FileSave or
FileSaveAs when you have "All active templates and documents" selected in
the Macros in: control?

this did not fix this? i found no word temp documents in these files. how
do i reload office to orginal unconfigured (modified files)? I DO NOT WANT

You should not lose the PST file by doing anything suggested here - though
back it up to be sure.

I find it difficult to believe there are no temp files either in the working
folders or in the Windows temp folder. Have you set Windows Explorer to
display hidden files and the extensions of known file types?

To reset Word to install defaults, rename normal.dot, delete or rename the
registry data key as described in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm repair Word and
remove any add-ins as also described the quoted link.

Use the Inbox Repair Tool ("C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\SCANPST.EXE") to repair your PST file.

this problem was corrected by the $35 option from MS for techical support in
15 minutes. 20 normal docs spread out through out my system!

20 normal.dot files? No wonder Word was confused ;)
