This occurs when I access a website for public records (which I had never had trouble with until now) and click on a page link to view a recorded document that has been scanned in with a tiff extension. I'm thinking somehow I've got to direct the computer to know to use the correct application to view and I can't determine any routes to do it. When I click on the link, I get the little square icon telling me a pic is there, but I can't view it. Even try to right click and/or double click, but do not get a prompt saying "Open with..." it only offers to save and open in Excel, but the properties indicate it is a tiff file... any suggestions?

Have you ever been able to view tiffs? Or is this something that has
changed?

If you have Office 2003 or XP, Microsoft Document Imaging works great.

Otherwise, it should open in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. But, I don't
know how to find the exe for that.
Maybe you should open a jpg in picture and fax viewer and then browse to
your tiff.

Good luck,
Myron

Hi - The Alterna TIFF plug-in works very nicely (except maybe for some
special multi-page
stuff occasionally), free, here: http://www.alternatiff.com/

It seems to be working great! Although now my browser is having a tendency to 'hang in limbo' which may be due to Adelphia cable/ISP lines. But I'm able to view the tiff files. Thanks so much for your help!!!

Workaround your problem.
Did you try to re-associate that extension (Tiff) to other program?
Open windows explore Click on Tools + Folder Option + files types.

Please try it.
Thanks

Amer
