Problem viewing folder list in FrontPage

I have a user that is having problems displaying the folder list in
FrontPage. We've already tried emptying the temp internet files and
repairing IE. Still having problems. Any help would be appreciated.
Please see below for a description of his problem:

"Microsoft FrontPage will not display correctly. File folders are not
shown as well as certain critical files. In addition most files cannot
be accessed in the Files view. Files can be accessed through the All
Files view but this is not useful due to the size of the web. I have
attached a file that shows this unusual issue. Other users in the
department are not having this problem with FrontPage."

Is he using View | Folder List?

Does he have a web/site opened?

To view all hidden folder/files:

With the web/site opened:
Tools | Web Settings | Advanced ... show hidden files and folders - (check this box)

You didn't say which version of FP, the above is for FP2002...but should be similar for 2003

Try opening the web using the command line.

Start | Run | Frontpg.exe http://YOUR_WEB_SITE/ | OK.

That will bypass the web folders on the computer, does it make any
difference then?

If yes, the web folders are messed up. (I think you can re-install them, but
am not sure.)

Also, I am aware that certain versions of FrontPage (are they different for
your different users?) can have issues displaying lists of files if there
are some certain types of text strings in the header or title tags of the
HTML documents.

I'd suspect though, that you have a cached file issue and just havent
deleted the right stuff yet. Did you delete all the .WEB files on the
computer yet? (Search, *.web, delete all of them)

I think it a known problem
See the thread:
FP2003 Hyperlink Problem

I've experienced it on a number of sites. It is strange because although it
appear to be a client issue, the same site with FP2000 opened with FP2000
works fine.
My only suggestion is to either work on a local copy of the site and publish
it to the remote one when you want to make it live.
