problem saving photo gallery

I am trying to create a photo gallery. It shows up fine on the design view,
but when I go to the page online, the thumbnails aren't there. In FrontPage,
I get a message "To save this page and photo gallery, open a Front Page based
web site, and save the page to that site." What does that mean and what do I
need to do?

Sounds like you created a page with a gallery in it, and not a website with a page with a gallery in it.

In other words...did you create a Web first, then create a page in the Web for the gallery?

You must have a web open first (File Menu | Open Web) and then import your images into this web,
then create the photo gallery.
