I recently bought a used Fujitsu p-2110 computer with a Transmeta Crusoe
processor. It is very small laptop (about 2.5 pounds, 10" by 7"), running an
XP-Pro OS.
I installed several applications without difficulty which run with no problem.
My problem is that I have 2 freeware applications, Quackle
(www.quackle.org), and Zyzzyva (www.zyzzyva.net), which apparently download,
but when I try to run them, I get the ubiquitious message about sorry for the
inconvenience but this program must be terminated, or however that reads.
Other users have run them without difficulty on XP-Pro. I have run them
without difficulty on 2 other computers, both of which have XP Home Edition.
The programs used to play or study Scrabble.
Both programs were written using Qt (I'm not knowledgeable, but I think I
understand that this is an application which compiles code so that it runs on
a variety of operating systems).
Having bought the computer used, I'm wondering if there is some setting in
either the computer of in XP-Pro the previous user might have changed which
would cause my trouble in running these programs.
Thanks,
Ben
