Problem, repeat button only repeats a small part of what I type?

If I type "Angel's Dress" the repeat button will repeat only a small part of
this, why, and can this be fixed? Old Word repeated fine.
 
If you have text selected and are typing over it, then the first letter you
type is considered a replacement and the rest is just typing, so F4 will
repeat only the second step, omitting the first letter. Also note that every
AutoCorrect/AutoFormat is a separate Undo/Redo step, so what you would get
in this case would be "s Dress" (everything after the AutoFormat of the
apostrophe).
