Problem renaming a domain

When I set up a development domain at home I didn't add the ".com" to the
end of my domain and it seems to really be messing stuff up for me.

So, I am trying to use the domain rename tool for my Win2K3 server. I've
gotten all the way up to step 6 and it flops when I try to use the repadmin
command

I use:

repadmin /syncall /d /e /P /q FRED CN=MYSTERY_MACHINE

I get this error...

Syncing partition: CN=MYSTERY_MACHINE

SyncAll exited with fatal Win32 error: 8420 (0x20e4):
The naming context could not be found.

Any idea what can be going on here?
