Problem Removing Program

I used the "change/remove program" to remove a connectivity cable driver that
I had installed and didn't work. After a few tries the name of the driver is
still sitting in the list of programs; also, a re-install didn't work. How to
get rid of the unwanted cable driver program? I have Windows XP Sp2. Should I
go to DOS and try?

sometimes, an uninstall isn't
as clean as it should be and
can leave orphaned registry
keys.

This is due to the program
being poorly written. The
matter becomes worst when
re-installations and re-uninstalls
are done by the user, with the
hopes to resolve issues by
the faulty or incompatible
program, like the one you
have now.

Notwithstanding, make
sure the parent folder for that
program is deleted from
the harddrive.

Then you might want to use
a registry cleaner to search and
remove orphaned registry keys.
I suggest one called EUSING.

In regards to the orphaned
line item left in add/remove
programs; i use a third party
program that let's me pick
and choose which ones to
delete from the listing.
