Problem receiving faxes with Windows XP fax program

Can anyone help me fix this problem: I can send faxes from my computer through the Windows XP fax program but I can't receive them. When a fax attempts to come through, the computer will recognize it's a fax and will answer the call, but after about 30 seconds, I will get an error message saying that a fax failed. I have already set all the configure settings that the fax program "help" section told me to set, so what am I doing wrong?

Does this happen from various fax senders? If you have gone through the
modem diagnostics and can't find anything wrong , you could delete and
reinstall the fax program in Add and Remove Programs / Add and Remove Window
Components. Jym
