Hello,
I have a problem on printing on Zebra TLP-2844-Z.

The whole-sticker is combined of several little-stickers.
At the buttom the sticker can be cut off (about 1 cm from bottom).

When I print via crystal report (on VB.NET 2005), I cannot reach the bottom
of the sticker.
(Whatever I did : changing the margin to zeros ... etc... but in vain).

I see that this can be done, because on other program the printing was fine
(The old program is on non-windows system).

What may be wrong, and what should I look on Crystal in order to priint
properly ?
Need an example, please.

Thanks :)

I don't believe you mentioned what kind of printer (either brand or
technology).

All printers have a natural margin, which cannot be printed beyond
reliably. The manufacturer's printer driver usually incorporates this
into the specifications such that the margin limitation is shown
virtually on the monitor, so you know what is within the printing area,
or the driver will mention that the area you have attempted to access is
beyond the printer's ability to print at that location.

However, depending upon the printer technology, some printers have a
buffer zone where they can print, but may not be able to do so reliably
(the image may smudge, or sometimes mis-feed the paper). This is
particularly true when using inkjet models. Also, some software uses a
more generic printer driver which is designed to emulate a more
generalized margin limitation, rather than one which is specific to the
printer, and the software you are using may be doing that, or is it
possible you are using a different printer than the other time?

Sometimes there is a way around this by "lying" to the driver about the
printer model or the length of the paper you are using and creating a
custom page length that is just a bit longer, so it lowers the bottom
margin expecting a bit more paper length than there is.

If you were previously using a different software package and were able
to print further down with the same printer, you may need to try to
force the software to use the driver you used with the other software to
have it work similarly.

Mr. X.

For the old software is on non-windows system, so it has it own driver (it's
a software for more then 20 years, and I cannot have the source, because it
is owned by other company).

For the new software - I didn't understand from what you have said, what to
do ?

Thanks :)

Again, what printer are you using to print the labels and what
technology does it use (laser color, b&W, inkjet, dot matrix, etc)?

Secondly, where is the driver for the printer coming from? Is it from
the printer manufacturer directly, (come in the box with the printer or
downloaded from their website) was it from the operating system package,
etc?

Thirdly, what type of sizing options does the driver or printing
software allow for? Can you maximize the printer area via the driver or
printer software, can you indicate a custom size page within the driver
software o the page format software? For instance, can you input
somewhere a page that rather than 8.5" x 11, you could have an 8.5" x
11.5 or 12" page?

How much (in length) of the lower area is currently becoming margin area
rather than being print area?
