Problem Opening Hyperlinks

I have a problem and need help. All of a sudden it takes 1 to 2 min. to open
a hyperlink. If I am in e-mail or a website and click on a link that's when
I have to waite and sometimes it won't open at all. When I open my home page
that is also slow to open. I don't have a problem going to websites from my
Favorites or mylinks. I shut down my firewall and Norton and even went back
to IE6. Still nothing changed. I have XP Home, SP2 and IE7. Can anyone
help??? Thanks!

I have same problems: plus, double clicks on doc files in folders take
forever to open, but from within WinWord 2003 on XP Home SP2 and IE7, they
open fast. Hyperlinks within pdf files with Acrobat 8.0 also delay. winword
/a doesn't cure it. I've tried remedies from many forums and knowledge base;
no luck.

I use Office Pro 2003 and use current Norton and Defender, too. DocJim, did
you ever have the trial of Office 2007 on your system as I did, but then
removed it? Do you have Business Contact Mgr 2003 from Outlook installed as I
do? I also have Google Desktop. (Just trying to see common details.)

Total physical memory = 512mb; available physical memory = 204mb; total
virtual memory = 2 gb; available virtual memory = 1.9gb; page file space =
1.22gb.

I'm using a Compaq Presario 6000 and USB connection to my 2wire 2700 HGB
with highest level of DSL.

Are there any wizards out there who can solve this. Many others in other
forums like Word and Failed Applications, etc. are going through this. Thx
from Christopher.

Christopher---I never had Office 2007 or Business Contact Mgr 2003 installed.
I'm using a Dell Dimetion 4600C with high speed cable.

I hope someone can help!

Try here; it could be your MTU or other settings.
