Problem Opening attachments

Hello

I have just started using Windows Mail in Vista. I have just received a
couple of e-mails one with a .wmv attachment and one with a .pps attachment.
However when I try to open them it tells me that this file does not have a
program associated to it, and to create one in the set associations control
panel. Both these extensions already have a file associated to open them with
however.

I have found that if I save the attachments to my desktop I can then open
them that way.

Any ideas why I can't open them in windows mail ?

I haven't seen the equivalent for .WMV files.

Good to hear. Hopefully someone will pipe in with the .wmv fix.

I had the same problem. I opened IE went to tools - Internet Options -
Programs - Manage Add-ons - Windows Media Play - then changed it to
"enabled". That did it for me. After that I could double click the wmv file
in my email and it opened.
