Problem: Need Help

Ok here's my problem anytime I play Neverwinter Nights on
my comp it just turns off. No warning messages or event
logs it just turns off.. and no it doesn't restart. I
have updated all of my drivers to the best that I can
find. I know that its not a power problem, because I have
a 425w supply. I could maybe see my processor temp but I
doubt that. Is there anyone that could offer some advice
on this.. here is the hardware that I have:
MB: Asus p4c 800-e delux
intel p4 2.80GHz 800FSB
video card: GForce 4 Ti 4600 128mb
intergrated sound

Hi Jerry,

Yes, I think you're looking in the right direction. You have a
strong enough power supply, but is it faulty? You should keep
it in mind to have it examined with a multimeter if all else fails.

CPU overheating / shutdowns are usually preceded by several
warning beeps through the system speaker. None the less take
a good look at the inside of your case and make sure your fans
are working well. Don't forget to replace the thermal grease if
you remove the heatsink from your processor though. Keep a
close eye on it's temperature using the BIOS during startup, and
a utility while you're running windows.

Lower the game settings to minimum for now until you're able
to play without shutdown problems. You can then raise them
again gradually to see which settings if any are unaggreable. ;-)
