Nev.
I have been having a couple of strange problems.
I wonder if any of you people have come across anything
similar?
The uni has recently changed its file system to PDF, for
security reasons, I think. A few days ago I downloaded
a file from uni and when I printed it out I thought it looked
like some foreign language that I couldn't recognize or
understand. Therefore I took this print up to uni to check
if there might be any problem at their end, but they printed
out a correct copy for and said the problem must be between
my computer and printer.
However, at this same time period I was having the problem that
some PDF files downloaded from uni would not print out, but I
was not having these problems with files on my computer. So
these problems make me wonder if PDF may have some indirect
compatability problems?
On the other hand, if I go to the printer manufacturer with my
problem they will tell me that there is no problem with their
printer but the problem lies between my computer, the OS, and
the uni file system.
(I am abstracting from the facts that I have had my OS reinstalled
and I have been having a lot of problems with Symantec - which
you people might feel makes my original question impossible. If
so, my apologies.)
TIA,
Nev
