problem installing yahoo messenger

I have not been able to download yahoo messenger since I got this computer.
I tried to download Windows Live and it would only download the sign in
part-not the messenger, mail or any of the rest .....any ideas on why I can't
download these programs?

I have the same problem with Messenger Live that does not want to install. It
does not give any error messages, just says "Not installed". I'm running
Vista Business and I'm an administrator user.
