Hello --

I have been learning C# using the open source IDE SharpDevelop, but I
felt I needed a source debugger... So I left my PC all night to download
Visual C# Express. This morning I restarted my system as it advised,
and after the hard drive chugged away for about half an hour, the setup
gave me a message that .Net 2.0 Beta had successfully install, but the
install of VC# *FAILED*! -- And without any helpful error message that
might indicate why the install didn't work.

Has anyone else had a problem with the installation of VC# Express? I
am running Windows XP Home SP2 on an AMD system with 256MB, and the only
things I can think of that might have gone wrong is that either I had
insufficient space on the partition I tried to install to (~700M) or the
Setup got "upset" that I attempted to install to a dedicated partition
for my applications, rather than to C:\Program Files\...

Can anyone cast any light on this? Is there any why I can re-attempt
the install without downloading those 50MB all over again (I have a
dial-up connection)?

Now that .NET is installed, you dont need to d/l it again.
However, the Express packages all install from "the
installer", which does the d/l too. :o(
