problem in word document

I have windows xp & when I am in word and typing my text
it will skip to the bottom of the page when I hit enter. I
can not get it to single space after I hit enter. I have
checked my settings and they are set at single space, It
only happens when I am in word. Any suggestions on how I
can slove this problem?

There is a Word newsgroup, you may want to ask your question there. But
here's my guess:

The same type of behavior could happen from the "paragraph spacing"
settings...

Format -> paragraph -> spacing -? after (or before)

Try setting them at 0.
