Problem in the way I view my outgoing mail

I accidentally hit a button the other day on my keyboard, and ever since, my
outgoing mail shows paragraph signs at the end of each line and dots in
between each word. It is quite annoying. I can't find any way to change it.
Please help. Thanks!
