Problem in creating reminders

Hi,
could anyone have a solution for the following problem:

I create a new appointment item and set the reminder. I use
"ReminderMinutesBeforeStart" property to set the desired reminder time. Now,
when I open the newly created item in my calendar the reminder time is set as
I wanted but the "Reminder" check box is not checked. What object and
property do I have to use in order to activate the reminder?
