problem frontpage server extension

I have problem frontpage server extensions i did login
open then will not connect to server message say not
available file and need install frontpage ext problem
with _vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe not sure why? i did
uninstall frontpage ext and back up file then remove file
clean everything then install frontpage ext resort back
up file everything i try login frontpage then still same
thing did check cpanel server work fine and web site
run fine only frontpage ext not work something missing
file author.exe ? i run web server for over year no
problem then happen problem last 3 day ago i keep try fix
still not work for 3 days please help
